Description: Please join Lisa Melkonian, M.Ed/400 hr RYT for a Kundalini Yoga class! This style of yoga, also known as the “yoga of awareness” is very spiritual and offers many benefits, such as stress and anxiety relief. Classes begin with chanting a mantra, followed by warm-ups and a kundalini kriya, or yoga set and will end with deep relaxation and meditation. What makes a kundalini class different from other yoga classes? In addition to practicing yoga postures, or asana, kundalini uses breathwork, eye-focus and mudras (hand positioning) to help bring one into balance in mind/body/spirit.
Bio: Lisa is a licensed early childhood teacher who has been practicing yoga since 2013. As a teacher and as a yogi she wants to integrate her expertise of young children with and without disabilities, and the practice of yoga in order to help children learn, grow, and thrive. Beyond working with children, her offerings include teaching adult classes for parents and caregivers, focusing on restoration and stress relief.
